Successful Challenge to Pretrial Detention in Suffolk County
Elena Fast successfully petitioned the Appellate Division, Second Department, for habeas corpus relief on behalf of a client detained pending trial. The appellate court sustained the writ, established alternative forms of bail, including a $500,000 cash option, and directed the client’s release upon satisfaction of the specified bail and supervision conditions.
